Can Jon Jones Defeat Rampage Jackson At UFC 135?

On Saturday September 24, 2011 from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones makes his highly anticipated fishing games title defense, against former Light Heavyweight Champion Rampage Jackson. Jon Jones is still relatively new to the UFC betting audience, so a successful title defense will go along way in winning fans over. Here is a preview of UFC 135.

UFC 135 is an MMA event, with everything riding on the success of the main event. Aside from the aforementioned Jon Jones and Rampage Jackson, the only other big name star that casual fight fans will recognize is American Lightweight Nate Diaz. Meaning to say, if Jon Jones can defeat Rampage Jackson as thoroughly as Jones defeated Shogun Rua, then there should be no doubt that he deserves to be champion.

At the same time, if the fight between Jon Jones and Rampage ends up going the same way as Rampage’s previous two fights, not only will the card not draw, but most fans will probably avoid Jones fights all together. For those unfamiliar with Rampage Jackson’s last two fights, both went the entire three and five rounds, before going to a judge’s decision.

In his eight fights since entering the UFC in January of 2009, Jon Jones has only had two fights go to the judge’s scorecard. Luckily for Jones, in both of those fights, he walked away with the decision victory. What’s more, since entering the octagon for the first time in 2009, Jon Jones has been considered by many, to be the pound for pound most exciting fighter in the world. If Jones can maintain his dominant ways for the next couple of years, fight fans may be able to watch many dream matchups.
